KFNPD Officers are responsible for the following duties: Attend or preparecommunity policing events/presentations Preparation of occurrence reporting system reports Maintenance of a daily journal
Conduct criminal and non-criminal investigations and be thoroughly conversant with criminal matters inthe Indigenous Community
Interrogation of suspects, interviewing witnesses and development of informants Enforcement of CriminalCode and other Federal Statutes
Enforcement of Provincial Statutes, where applicable Investigating Accidents
Effect arrests under Federal and Provincial Legislation Attend Criminal andTraffic Court when required

Requirements
Diploma or College certificate in Police Technology and or Police Foundation recognized by the ENPQ;
Quebec Class 4A license with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience valid first aid and CPR trainingcertificate;
Valid First Aid and CPR Training Certificate or ability to undergo training is recommended
Preferred Skills
Knowledge in Algonquin culture and community; Language: English oral and writtencommunication Bilingual considered an Asset
Strong interpersonal and motivational skills;
Trustworthy, discreet and able to maintain strict confidentiality;
Ability to maintain healthy professionalism and respect for staff, colleagues and the public while working in astressful environment;
Ability to deescalate situations and prevent harm from occurring;
Experience working with First Nation Communities will be considered and asset.
Working Conditions
Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Verification;
Medical certificate of good health in accordance to industry standards and ability to maintain throughoutemployment;
Open to working various shifts such as evening, weekends, nights, and holidays Working Schedule, 7 days on and 7days off)
