Job Summary:
You will provide a safe and secure environment for Guests and Cast Members. Respond to, assess, and mitigate emergency situations quickly and effectively. Provide leadership for on-duty fire department Cast Members. Resolve challenging Guest and Cast Member situations in a positive manner. Collect, analyze, process, and disseminate all information that has an impact on the safety and security of the Disneyland Resort. Provide support to all Resort partners regarding fire prevention and protection issues.
You will report to the Fire Chief.
Responsibilities
- Foster a positive work environment for all Cast Members and resolve challenging Guest and Cast situations in a positive manner.
- Coordinate the daily activities of the fire department operation.
- Ensure the Disneyland Fire Department maintains a consistent and high level of Disney show quality and professionalism.
- Partner with other lines of business as needed to ensure that all facets of fire protection within the Resort are in the highest possible state of readiness.
- Assist with the selection process of new Cast Members.
- Respond to, assess, and mitigate emergency situations quickly and effectively and act as liaison to responding outside agencies and the internal Unified Incident Command Team.
- Monitor the completion of fire inspections, along with the maintenance and inspection of valves, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, and fire hose within the Disneyland Resort.
- Prepare reports and maintain records as required.
- Conduct fire prevention and fire department training activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of fire codes and fire safety requirements.
- Knowledge of interviewing and hiring practices.
- Ability to solve problems and prioritize workloads.
- Must possess extensive knowledge of firefighting methods.
- Must possess written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on projects and programs. Must know when it is appropriate to communicate with and seek guidance from senior leadership.
Desired Experience
- 10 or more years of fire service experience
- Experience as a Fire Captain or Chief Officer
Desired Education
- Associate’s degree in related business or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim is $102,000 to $136,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
